AUO has previously downsized its investment in TFT LCD panel productioncapacity at its Houli plant. Recently, it has been rumored that in order to meet the supply chain needs of European and American automakers, AUO will invest in a brand-new 6-generation LTPS panel production line at itsLongtan plant.

AUO's original LTPS production capacity is in the Singapore and Kunshan plants, of which the Singapore plant was closed at the end of last year.In response to technological and product development needs, AUO is dynamically adjusting its global capacity allocation and plans to build large-generation LTPS capacity in its Longtan plant.

AUO plans to build large-generation LTPS capacity at its Longtan plant. Building LTPS capacity at its Taiwan plant will also facilitate a one-stop production process for Micro LED displays, which is expected to accelerate mass production schedules and product application development, and provide customers with more flexibility to meet their needs in different markets and for various types of products.

AUO is one of the world's top three in-vehicle panel suppliers in the pre-vehicle market, with major automotive customers covering first-tier automakers in Europe and the United States. It is understood that due to geopolitical factors, AUO's customers want to have panel production bases outside of mainland China.
