You may be wondering why the demand is so high for 1440p monitors, especially since the PS5 is capable of running at 4K.
The answer is largely around three areas: fps, resolution and price.
At the moment, one of the best ways to access high framerates is by 'sacrificing' resolution.
If you wanted 120 fps for instance, but don't have an HDMI 2.1 monitor or TV, then one possible option is reducing the visual output resolution to 1080p and combining it with the right monitor.
Currently, the Xbox Series X can output in 1440p, leaving some PS5 owners without the option.
We're even seeing some brilliant 360Hz / 1440p displays already heading our way which could be worth keeping an eye out for.
